AFCEA UK West Chapter – Face-to-Face Meeting.

Following the unavoidable cancellation of our recent planned meetings, the good news is that we’re holding an in-person meeting on the 10 February and have identified a new and interesting venue – the Hub8 Brewery in Cheltenham.  Our guest speaker will be Brigadier Phil Muir MBE, Commander 1 (UK) Sig Bde and Chief G6 HQ ARRC Headquarters 1st (United Kingdom) Signal Brigade.  Brig Muir’s presentation will be “The challenge for 1 (UK) Signal Brigade”

The defence and security landscape has been developing for several years and the changes appear to be accelerating into the future. The Integrated Review highlighted many of the challenges we face and outlined how we were to address them. Technological developments are also accelerating, with the provisioning of ICS in the battlespace needing to match the capabilities that users take for granted in their everyday lives.  To tackle some of these issues there is a requirement for agile thinking, concept development, experimentation, and innovation.

1 (UK) Signal Brigade will be impacted by all these issues and Brig Muir will outline his vision as to how the Brigade will rise to the challenge.
