AFCEA London Chapter

**Please note that we have reached maximum numbers for this event so we cannot take any more bookings**

BT are again very generously hosting our January AFCEA London Chapter meeting at a “prestigious central London venue”.  This is always a very popular event and will be a great start the New Year, 2022!

Our speaker for the evening will be Maj Gen (rtd) Jonathan (Jon) Cole –  Director, Defence – BT Enterprise and the topic his presentation will be BT’s Sustainability agenda.  Jonathan will build out from the recently launched BT Manifesto and also weave in some other perspectives of how they will achieve this.  See here for more information (opens a new web page).

Jonathan (Jon) Cole is the BT Director for Defence, operating as a part of BT Enterprise. He leads the Profit and Loss account, which includes business development, sales, major bids, service operations and contract management. His business unit currently provides services to Ministry of Defence through Defence Fixed Telecommunications System (DFTS) and Integrated User Services (IUS) and some other contracts that are crucial to Defence’s role.

Jon is excited to be leading his team at a time of great change for Defence. He is committed to working with his customers and partners to help deliver a modern, secure digital backbone that users can exploit in many ways in pursuit of the national interest.

Prior to joining BT he completed a 35 year career in the British Army, culminating at Major General as the Army’s Director for Information, which included being Chief Information Officer at Board level. He had a wide range of operational, policy and acquisition roles, predominantly in Digital & Information Technology, Intelligence and Security.

A Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Engineering and Technology, he has a BEng(Hons) in Electronics, an MSc in Defence Technology, and an MA in International Security and Strategy.

This meeting is open only to pre-registered attendees.  Due to Covid security precautions currently in place at the venue, the number of attendees will be limited to a maximum of 54 people.  Understandably, this is much lower than in previous years, so places will be offered on a first come first served basis.  In fairness to all, only one booking per person will be accepted.  In the event that we are over-subscribed, we will operate a waiting list.  Any unsuccessful bookings will be notified and refunded.

On-line bookings for this event will close sharp at 17:00 – 21st January.

To register, click here for direct access to the booking form.  You will receive an automated confirmation email of your booking and Joining Instructions will be sent out a few days before the event.

Please note that booking fees for all face-to-face meetings in 2022 have been increased by £5 across the board.  Click here for conditions regarding preferential rates.  We will be honouring existing pre-paid tickets for those who have them banked.
