AFCEA London Chapter – April 2022 – Air Cdre Michael Baulkwill – Combat Air Force Commander – RAF Club @ RAF Club
Apr 6 @ 18:00 – 21:00

AFCEA London Chapter – Face-to-Face Meeting.

Our April monthly Chapter Meeting will be held at the RAF Club in Piccadilly on WEDNESDAY 6th April 2022.  Please note that this is not our traditional first Thursday.

The format of the evening will differ slightly from the norm, which we hope will encourage even more discussion during the Q&A sessions and continue into the informal networking reception.

The main speaker will be Air Cdre Michael Baulkwill – Combat Air Force Commander – and the title of his presentation will be “Operations in a Complex, Denied and Degraded Air Environment”.  Given the current world events, this could, perhaps, be the most relevant presentation of the year so far.

Following on from the Air Cdre, there will be two short “TED” style talks, each reflecting the main speaker’s theme:

•             Wg Cdr Holly Smith – SO1 C4ISR Programmes at NWD

•             A speaker from Adarga

This meeting has been organised by our Emerging Leader (EL) sub-committee. However, all Members and Guests are welcome to attend. Please draw this to the attention of a more diverse cohort of staff within your respective organisations and help us to be more relevant to them.

The running and management of this event will be governed by any Covid restrictions that may remain in place at the venue and the numbers of attendees may be limited accordingly.

To register, click here for direct access to the booking form.  You will receive an automated confirmation email of your booking and Joining Instructions will be sent out a few days before the event.

On-line bookings for this event will close sharp at 17:00 – 1st April 2022.

Please note that booking fees for all face-to-face meetings in 2022 have been increased by £5 across the board.  Click here for conditions regarding preferential rates.  We will be honouring existing pre-paid tickets for those who have them banked.

AFCEA London – June 2022 – Emerging Leader / Young AFCEA – RAF Cyber Day @ RAF Air Command
Jun 7 @ 11:00 – 21:00

AFCEA London Chapter – Face-to-Face Meeting.

The AFCEA London Chapter ‘Emerging Leaders/Young AFCEA’ sub-committee have organised a fantastic event at RAF High Wycombe, on 7 June 2022.  Our previous event originally scheduled for March 2019 was cancelled due to COVID, but we’re back again with a fantastic event.

This is a great taster for RAF life and gives you a real appreciation for RAF Digital and other technical elements of the RAF.  Please see the attached ‘Poster’ for more information.

  • Come to RAF High Wycombe and learn from our 2 Star Chief Digital Information Officer on his strategy for the RAF going forward.
  • Personnel from 591 Signals Unit from RAF Digby will be doing a demonstration on Cyber Threat Awareness and Defensive Monitoring in Cyber.
  • The Station Commander will come to talk and give an introduction to RAF life.
  • You will get to visit ‘Bomber’ Harris’ Office that he used in World War 2, and the tunnels he and others used to get around the camp during the war.
  • You will get a brief from a Cyberspace Professional, who works within Space Command, to give you a brief of the unit and his role in RAF Space domain.
  • You will learn from people who work in RAF Digital about their roles and different pathways for your opposite numbers in the military.

Finally, we will be heading to the Station’s beautiful Officers’ Mess for a networking session, with drinks provided.  A great opportunity to expand your network into different industries and businesses – including the military.

The cost for the event will be £30 per person and places are limited to a maximum of 30 attendees.

To register in the first instance, please email Flight Lieutenant Wesley Gaunt () with your name(s) and organisation.  Further administrative details including how to pay, will then be provided.

We hope to see as many of you there as possible, but in fairness to all, we can’t take more than 10 people from any one organisation.  Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so please act quickly to avoid disappointment.

AFCEA London Chapter – TriCyCIS 2022 Conference & Dinner

This year, our theme will be Accelerating Into The Information Age – Innovation, Integration, Implementation

It is three years on from our last TriCyCIS Conference and we are now bombarded with things like Integrated Review, Integrated Operating Concept and Multi-Domain Integration.  TriCyCIS 2022 will probe some of the challenges in implementing these things in the realms of Cyber and CIS – what is speculative, what is achievable, how we might do it (and what benefits it will bring!).

Further details and links to a new dedicated event microsite will follow shortly.

Delegate bookings for this event, or individual seats for the dinner, are now open.
